Our quality firewood is mixed hardwood, heavy on the oak. No pine or poplar here.

Wood is cut usually to 16" or less to accommodate smaller stoves and fireplaces. We also offer a popular 16 to 18" length, and discounted pricing for custom orders of large or round pieces for larger furnaces or other aplications. We are happy to cut wood to any specifications and proud of the work we do and service we provide. We will deliver you a load of wood today if you need it, or we can help you reach your long term firewood stocking and seasoning goals for winters still to come. We can deliver the wood you need for a week long camping trip or a winter in the Smokies. Our small truck holds about 1/3 cord of wood and is plenty of wood for a long camping trip or to cook a hog, and is a good size for rental units or apartments or where you just don't want too much wood. Our most popular size load is the "Full size truckload". It carries about 2/3 of a cord of prime hardwood firewood and is a popular size for those who only supplement their central system with wood heat. We also deliver a full cord. This is the size preferred by homeowners who know that what wood they don't burn this year will be there and ready for them next season. A cord, When stacked measures 4x4x8 feet or 128 cubic feet. It's a lot of firewood. I believe that a household that uses primarily wood for heat should expect to use at least 2 cords of wood per year. If you order more than one cord of all hard wood (hardwood) fire wood (firewood) from us, to the second and every sub sequential load will be applied a preferred customer discount.

Our delivery costs you only our expense. I mean that there is no charge for labor or time or fuel. If you pick up your wood here at our lot in Old Fort, we will discount $25 off of our regular price.  If you drive a v8 4x4 1985 ford truck, you know that this will only cover gas on some deliveries. We will include stacking if it is required at $20 extra charge for any load. Extra charge may apply for carrying wood up stairs, across the yard or around obstacles like fences or pools.

Delivery is not the only option, although most customers prefer its convenience. We are available by appointment 7 days a week to schedule your pickup.

We also offer splitting and cutting on site. You say you've got some logs or wood that you would like split up into firewood. We charge low hourly rates and we are FAST! If you want it cut down or cut up, we want to do it.

I have been in the firewood business for eight years now. I have tried everything to keep seasoned wood year round, but the truth is that now I am out. Black locust is the next best thing. It will burn hot even if it is fresh cut. I am nearly out of that now too. I stacked up wood all summer long and by September I had 25 cords of seasoned oak. It is all gone now. The space that it takes is immense. I have a hard time imagining anyone that sells a lot of wood being able to keep ahead of the demand for seasoned wood this time of year. It seems to me that people would learn to stock up on firewood over the summer. The demand then is low and it is readily available. Find you some locust now to get through the next couple of cold spells. Then, get stocked up for next year. Do it this spring. Next winter you will be glad you did. Your seasoned wood will be "gold".
I get many calls each day looking for wood that will burn now. I have to turn them down. I am in the business and strive for repeat sales and customer satisfaction. If I sell green wood to someone who is cold now, they will be unhappy with it and never call back. If I am honest and truthful about the wood, I can hopefully help to educate the public about the importance of stocking their wood early (Like a year early). and prevent the disappointment of trying to stay warm by a cool smoldering fire.
Seasoned Locust is the best seller that we have.
In closing, Please contact us and we will try to work out a solution for your heating needs. Not just for today, but for the future as well. I have many customers that I provide with wood on a schedule and they always have dry wood to burn. They will not spend many hours listening to the wood heater sizzle. They enjoy the penetrating heat provided by good seasoned hardwood firewood all winter long. If you buy 1 truckload of wood a month all summer long, by autumn, you will have a full winters supply. Most of us who burn wood do it at least in part to save money. Late in the winter, good seasoned wood will be more expensive, and burning the green wood is less efficient and therefore more expensive not to mention less rewarding.

Please contact us now and we will find you some wood to burn now, but more importantly, we will make a plan to insure that you stay warm next winter.
